Automotive Service Advisor

Duties

Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs Explain repair and maintenance procedures clearly, providing detailed auto estimates and service recommendations Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission diagnostics to maximize customer value Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, track progress, and ensure timely completion of services Manage service writing tasks accurately, including documenting vehicle issues, parts used, labor performed, and billing details Handle cash transactions securely while maintaining precise records of payments received Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business

Qualifications

Proven dealership experience or automotive service management background Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures Experience working with service technicians on vehicle repairs such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, and auto body repair Skilled in auto estimating software and service writing processes Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust Knowledge of automotive components including transmissions, suspensions, tires, and auto electrical systems such as air brakes or alignments is highly desirable
