The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill an Automotive Equipment Tech - Master position, located at Copper Lake/Lincoln Hills Schools in Irma, Wisconsin.

Position Summary



Under the general supervision of the Building/Grounds Superintendent, this position is responsible for performing all skilled maintenance, diagnosis and repairs on gasoline and diesel-powered automotive equipment including light and heavy-duty trucks, cars, large bucket tractors, forklifts small engine powered equipment, etc. for the Lincoln Hills/Copper Lake Schools. This position trains and supervises youth workers in the maintenance and repair of vehicles/equipment; maintains preventative maintenance schedules; test-drives vehicles and equipment; coordinates large repairs with vendors, responds to emergency calls, and performs other work as assigned.

Salary Information



This position is in pay schedule and range 03-12 with a starting pay of $22.18/hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

Job Details



Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

This position is not eligible for remote work.

Qualifications



Special Qualifications:

Must possess a valid driver's license upon appointment and meet State of Wisconsin fleet eligibility Must possess a valid commercial driver license (CDL, Class B). Must possess an Automobile and Light Truck certification from the National Institute for Automotive Services Excellence
