, focusing on installation, optimization, maintenance, and repair. This role requires collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and external vendors.
System Optimization:
Work with Engineering and Operations to apply and optimize robotic and automation system improvements to manufacturing processes and parts.
Programming & Commissioning:
Program equipment to execute operational functionality at a part-number-specific level.
Assist in the setup and commissioning of new equipment.
Troubleshooting & Repair:
Diagnose and modify control logic in industrial robotic systems to optimize equipment operation.
Troubleshoot malfunctions of automated equipment, electrical control units, and complex systems.
Install, test, and repair electrical components; align, adjust, and calibrate control components.
Preventative Maintenance (PM):
Perform routine and complex preventative maintenance activities on robotic and automated equipment.
Documentation & Training:
Document processes and create clear procedures & work instructions.
Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
Train operators in the safe and proper use of automated equipment.
Collaboration:
Act as a key member of the maintenance team, supporting equipment and facility activities, and collaborating with internal departments to propose automation solutions.
Education Requirements
Technical or Associate's Degree (AA) in Electrical/Electronics Technology, Industrial Robotics/Automation is desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in industrial automation and robotics.
Understanding of, and working experience with, industrial automation systems.
Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Solid understanding of electrical schematics and industrial codes/standards.
Proficient written report writing and communication skills, with a general understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
2+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills (a plus!):
Specific training or experience with Fanuc and Kawasaki robotic systems.
Experience using simulation software like Fanuc Roboguide.
