GENERAL SUMMARY:

This mid-level position is responsible to assist in the installation, monitoring and servicing of automation equipment in the oil and gas industry; this position will work with senior level I & E Technicians, project managers and/or programmers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor and isolate problems and perform repairs for various Oil & Gas applications with limited supervision. Provide field service as needed to maintain operational readiness. Troubleshoot and diagnose various electronic equipment to isolate faults with an automated system. Provide professional communication to company personnel and answer questions as needed. Comply with all applicable safety rules and environmental responsibilities. Responsible to assist in commission of new facilities. With limited supervision, configuration and set up of all instrumentation and applicable feedback to PLC.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Have a background of system startups and commissioning. Familiarization with voltage application 120vac, 24vdc, 12vdc. Familiarization with Analog, HART, and Modbus protocols. Comfortable with Microsoft applications is a plus (Word and Excel). Skilled with hand and electrical tools. Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner. Must have experience with pressure transducers, tank level transmitters, Networking TCP/IP, Solar Powered Systems, fuses, breakers and surge protectors and wiring schematics. Set up cellular networks and interface equipment. Competent in use of handheld meters and equipment used in simulation and troubleshooting.

EDUCATION, LICENSES & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 3 years' experience with electrical and electronic equipment. 3 years' experience working with cellular communications and IP address schemes.

Physical Activity: Requires mediumheavy physical work; regularly required to sit or stand, use of hands and fingers to operate a computer; able to lift and transport 40% lbs. unassisted if necessary. Work environment: High exposure to elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or moderate noises. This position is primarily a field environment with minimal time spent in an office environment. * Regular, predictable attendance is required
