Job Description

Job Summary





Seeking experienced Automation Estimator to estimate and cost complex automation projects, including robotic cells, weld cells, and integrated systems. Role combines technical manufacturing expertise with business acumen for scoping, pricing, and sales support.


Key Responsibilities




Develop cost estimates for projects involving vision systems, robotic cells, welding systems, material handling, and custom automation. Review customer specs, drawings, and requirements for scope and feasibility. Collaborate with integrators, engineering, sales, and project teams on proposals. Quantify components: hardware, software, labor, installation, and commissioning. Conduct site visits to assess equipment, constraints, and integration needs. Source and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotes. Develop estimating databases with pricing, rates, and standards.

Required Qualifications




5+ years in manufacturing automation or related field. Strong knowledge of vision systems, robotic systems, integration, and automated processes. Proven estimating experience for automation/engineering solutions. Solid understanding of welding, assembly, material handling, and inspection. Proficiency with PLCs, industrial controls, and automation architecture. Ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills. Excellent communication for customers, vendors, and teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.

Preferred Qualifications




Experience with vision systems, cameras, and sensors. Robotic programming (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, etc.). PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.). Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, ANSI, etc.). CAD software experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Understanding of lean manufacturing and cycle time optimization. Project management or engineering degree.
