Job Title: AutoCAD Drafter

Reports To: P.E.

Location: Rochester, NY

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled, team-oriented drafter to join our growing company. In this position, you will prepare clear, accurate and complete working plans utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD). Drafter responsibilities include setting up drawings to include layouts with plan views, details and specifications for civil and structural work. The majority of the drafting will be in 2-Dimension (2-D), however, some 3-Dimensional (3-D) modeling may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Create accurate CAD drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions and site visits Make necessary drawing changes as directed by the Professional Engineer, redline corrections, update and edit project specifications and notes Interpret others drawings to obtain necessary information Provide accurate and to-scale 2-D and 3-D views of projects for the Professional
Engineer to review

Communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants in order to provide needed assistance and technical support Clearly report on project status to management and clients Assist Project Manager with submittals and deliverables Willingness to assist others with drafting Create and maintain internal drafting standards

Requirements and Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Architectural / Civil Technology is preferred 3-5 years of drafting experience is required Significant working knowledge of AutoCAD 2013 or newer is required Knowledge of Revit, Civil 3-D and SketchUp is preferable Familiarity with Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred Advanced Microsoft Office skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to multi-task within multiple projects at a time Aptitude for working collaboratively with multiple disciplines within teams and projects Successful candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
