Description

This position will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon candidate qualifications:

Associate Modeler ($26.46 - $36.91 Hourly)

Uses BIM software to produce and update facility drawing sets. Assists with LiDAR field scanning. Works under the direct supervision of the BIM Supervisor with technical guidance from Staff and Senior Facility Modelers.

Staff Modeler ($69,319.23 - $96,714.85 Annually)

Uses BIM software to produce and update underground utility drawing sets. Assists with LiDAR field scanning. Works under the direct supervision of the BIM Supervisor and advises on the implementation of industry best-practices.

Typical Qualifications

Associate Modeler

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience in engineering-related BIM modeling and drafting. Ability to produce construction document sets using BIM models in a production environment. Familiarity with 3D modeling principles including basic modeling procedures, sheet layout, and plotting. Basic understanding of engineering and architectural drawing sets.

Staff Modeler

Minimum Qualifications

A two-year Associate\'s of Applied Science degree (AAS) in BIM technology, computer aided drafting or related field and three years of experience in engineering-related BIM modeling and computer-aided drafting. Proficient with 3D modeling principles including advanced modeling procedures, creating and editing styles, and plotting. Understanding of engineering and architectural drawing sets. Thorough understanding of pointcloud technology.

Desired Qualifications

A four-year Bachelor\'s of Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent degree. Comprehensive understanding of pointcloud data. Comprehensive understanding of water/wastewater treatment plant processes. Previous formal or informal supervision of BIM staff including review of drawings/models and redline markups.

Equivalency

Equivalency equals two years of directly related professional experience for every year of education not completed. The stated experience requirement is in addition to any experience used to meet the education equivalency.

Working Conditions

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outdoor weather conditions and works near moving mechanical parts less than 1/3 of the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear more than 2/3 of the time. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl less than 1/3 of the time. The employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds 1/3 to 2/3 of the time and up to 50 pounds less than 1/3 of the time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. Color vision is desirable.
