Responsibilities
Assess vehicle damage thoroughly to determine the scope of repairs needed, including sheet metal work, auto painting, and auto glass replacement.
Perform auto body repairs such as dent removal, panel replacement, welding (including MIG welding and soldering), and fabrication using various hand tools and power tools.
Utilize automotive repair techniques including auto restoration, assembly, detailing, and auto painting with airless paint spraying equipment.
Conduct mechanical inspections and perform minor vehicle maintenance to support repair processes.
Use auto estimating software to evaluate repair costs accurately and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair procedures and timelines.
Execute heavy lifting safely when handling large panels or components, ensuring proper use of lifting equipment and safety protocols.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to safety standards at all times.
Collaborate with team members on complex repairs involving sheet metal work, welding, auto body alignment, and auto restoration projects.
Ensure all repairs meet quality standards by inspecting finished work meticulously before returning vehicles to customers.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes clearly and addressing customer questions professionally.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an Auto Body Technician or similar role within a dealership or automotive repair shop.
Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, fabrication, and the use of various hand tools and power tools required for auto body work.
Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and vehicle maintenance procedures.
Skilled in auto painting techniques including airless paint spraying; experience with auto glass installation is a plus.
Familiarity with auto estimating software and understanding of insurance claim processes is advantageous.
Ability to lift heavy vehicle parts safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
Knowledge of sheet metal work, auto restoration techniques, welding (including welding certifications preferred), and assembly processes.
Excellent attention to detail for precision repairs such as auto painting, detailing, and auto glass replacement.
Good communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
