Job Description

Responsible for the delivery of the Autism Works program and quality services to students served by A New Leaf, Inc's. (A.N.L.) Autism Works (A.W.) program within elementary, middle, and high schools in the Tulsa metro area and surrounding communities, in conjunction with the Autism Works Program Coordinator II. Facilitates groups/classes of students with autism or similar barriers, teaching prevocational skills, including communication, social skills, and self-regulation - during and after school hours. Within the A.W. program responsible for developing, monitoring, and coordinator services for students served.

Supervisory Responsibilities:



Supervises any practicum students/interns or peer mentors within the A.W. program

Supervises participating students in the classroom and during any off-site activities

Duties/Responsibilities:



Works in conjunction with the A.W. Program Coordinator II to deliver A.N.L.'s A.W. program and works to provide quality services to everyone served

Coordinates and completes all preparation of assigned classroom materials and lesson plans associated with the A.W. program's chosen curriculum

Facilitates groups/classes within the A.W. program by meeting the daily needs of students with the program, including occasional weekend programming, as needed

Ensures the health, safety, and well-being of students in the A.W. program and contributes to a positive and safe working environment

Monitors and evaluates progress of students (outcomes and methods), reporting results in cooperation with the student's team; completes student observations

Coordinates and completes all the paperwork to prepare for school meetings, team meetings, monthly or quarterly reporting requirements, or parental meetings

Completes all required reporting needs such as time studies, monthly reports, payroll timesheets, daily attendance, accurate personal information of those served, etc.

Interacts with participants served to promote good self-esteem, confidence, and morale; participates actively to ensure the happiness and well-being of students; treats individuals with dignity and respect

Represents A.N.L. and A.W. positively; acts as a positive role model for all students served; develops and maintains a sound working relationship with schools, parents, and students; elates well with the public, other provider agencies, and any other external customers

Performs other related duties as assigned to benefit the program and mission of the organization

Requirements



Required Skills/Abilities:



Has and maintains a valid driver's license, including dependable vehicle/transportation to and from work, and automobile insurance coverage, to ensure you are eligible to operate company vehicles

Communicates well both verbally and in writing and completes all required documentation and reports required by A.N.L.

Works a flexible schedule based on the needs of those served and those of A.N.L., including but not limited to working scheduled evenings or weekends based on the department/event need, e.g., community enrichment days, parent resource nights, teacher trainings, etc.

Expresses a desire to work with and has a positive attitude toward working with people with developmental disabilities and autism

Possesses strong organizational skills and an ability to both thrive and be equally productive in a team-oriented or autonomous environment

Has the ability to clearly exemplify A.N.L.'s Core Values of Client-Centered/Customer-Focused, Professionalism, Innovation, and Collaboration

Obtains Employment Specialist/Program Coordinator certification within six (6) months of employment

Education and Experience:



Minimum age - 21 years old

Bachelor's Degree required

Preference given to people with previous experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities

Expressed desire to work with people with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities

Positive attitude toward working with diverse populations and excellent interpersonal skills

Good knowledge of all Microsoft Office platforms and excellent computer skills

Physical Requirements:



Prolonged period of sitting behind computer and desk as well as prolonged period of standing, outdoor, and interactive activities

Bending, stooping, and lifting a minimum of 30lbs
