Job Description

The Sacramento office location is 715 P Street, 15th Floor, CNRA Building, Sacramento CA 95814.



This is an intermittent position that will work up to 1,500 per calendar year.

This position will travel up to 25% of the time throughout the State of California.

Effective July 1, 2025, The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. The salary range(s) included in the job advertisement do not reflect the 3 percent reduction in pay.


This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for applicants residing in California, in accordance with Government Code Section 14200 and the Department's current telework policy. A hybrid schedule typically includes working remotely and physically reporting to the office a minimum of two days per week; however, the specific number of in-office days and the overall telework schedule are subject to change at the sole discretion of the Department based on operational needs, policy changes, or direction from State leadership. Employees may be required to report to their designated work location with minimal notice. Telework does not alter the terms and conditions of employment, essential job functions, or compliance with departmental policies

Under direction of the Chief of Communications & External Affairs (CEA Level A), this position will independently perform the design and production of audio and visual-aid materials for the communication purposes of the department including, but not limited to, taking pictures using multiple types of cameras (e.g., cellular phone, action cameras, professional cameras), coordinate and manage contracts and contractors performing audio and visual work for the department, and develop and prepare the most difficult audio- visual materials for the department.



Specifically, this position will produce high-quality, complex audio-visual materials using Adobe Creative Suite (and other editing platforms) and is proficient in working with both video and still cameras, drone videography, camera lenses, audio recording devices, lighting equipment, teleprompters, sets and backdrops, along with miscellaneous peripheral equipment such as tripods, stands, video recorders, SIMM cards etc., in both single and multicamera production scenarios.
