Overview

Come join our collaborative team of audiologists! The Audiologist is responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care within scope of practice. This includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, planning, intervention and establishing outcomes. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide diagnostic testing with children and adults and the selection fitting and follow up with hearing aides.

  • 0.6 FTE, authorized for 48 hours per pay period.
  • The position will be primarily located at our clinic in Fridley and have opportunity to work out of Brooklyn Park, Andover and Wyoming Clinics as needed.

M Health Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.

Responsibilities

Evaluation

Captures pertinent data

Performs routine hearing evaluations, physiologic auditory assessment and special auditory testing

Hearing aid evaluation and fittings

Plan of Care

Analyzes data to identify needs and potential risks

Determines prognosis for recovery

Establishes individualized goals with patient and/or caregiver

Individualizes plan of care considering developmental level and cultural differences

Implements and modifies plan of care based on reassessment and patient response

Coordinates care and communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team & establishes appropriate discharge plan

Skilled Intervention

Implements plan of care

Alters treatment/plan of care to reflect change in patient status and response to treatment

Assesses patient and/or caregiver learning needs and provides appropriate education

Documentation/Billing

Uses acceptable medical terminology

Follows professional practice standards

Completes documentation in a timely manner per department standards

Follows department billing standards

Professional Expectations

Prioritizes tasks and patient care for effective time management

Understands and follows professional licensure/certification requirements

Advises team members and/or supervises students as designated

Pursues personal and professional development to support clinical standard process

Productivity

Qualifications

Required

Current Audiology licensure in the State of Minnesota

Basic Life Support certification

Preferred

Doctorate in Audiology

1+ years
