Veterinarian-Small Animal Associate Veterinarian:

FOREST HILLS VETERINARY HOSPITAL: Looking to add an associate veterinarian to a privately owned, 3 doctor, well established small animal practice. Our family owned practice was established 21 years ago but has recently moved into a beautiful newly constructed 4,000 SF facility, with a well-established clientele, and dedicated/motivated/ long standing staff.

Position is full time, but would consider part time option, and candidate should have interest in general surgery, internal medicine, preventative health care as well as demonstrate strong client communication skills. Ideal candidate will have 1 or more years' experience, but willing to mentor an exceptional new grad as well. Individual interests are encouraged and supported. Must hold degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, or equivalent, and be licensed to practice in North Carolina. Salary is based on experience, range $120, 000- $180,000; benefits include paid vacation and holidays, CE allowance, liability insurance, veterinary association membership, DEA license fee.

Our newly constructed facility offers 5 large exam rooms, an expansive treatment room complete with 4 exam tables and many windows allowing much natural light and cheery atmosphere , separate feline ward, separate isolation ward, double surgery suite, glass enclosed doctors' office with full view of treatment room. Advanced medical equipment includes: Digital record software system, Digital X-ray, dental x-ray, in-house Abaxis CBC/chemistry machines, laser therapy unit, IV pumps, full anesthesia monitoring equipment.

Our staff includes 2 registered veterinary technicians, 3 highly trained assistants (EACH with over 15 years experience), and several highly motivated pre-vet students. We are very proud of the fact that nearly half our staff has been with us for over 15 years, which attests to our work environment and our strong commitment to our staff.

Open 8:30 - 6:00 Monday-Fridays, 8:30 till noon on Saturdays and closed Sundays and major holidays; local emergency hospital takes all after-hours calls. Mobile referral ultrasound available in hospital, and local/traveling board certified surgeon available for consult or surgery in our hospital. Wilmington also offers a local referral hospital with board certified surgeons, internal medicine specialists, dermatology and ophthalmology and overnight ICU care. The North Carolina State University Veterinary School and referral hospital offers many board certified specialists and is only a 2 hour drive for clients.

Wilmington is a wonderful pet-friendly, coastal community with many public beaches and water activities, a historical river front downtown with restaurants and many local breweries, beautiful golf courses, University of North Carolina Wilmington, local airport, shopping, theater, and only 2 hours to Raleigh, and 1 hour to Myrtle Beach.

Pay: $55.00 - $140.00 per hour
