Location: Remote SOFTS Associate Foreign Language Instructors-Persian Farsi Classification: On Call Actively recruiting a Persian/Farsi Language Instructor to work on-call remotely About Chi-Chack Chi-Chack is an SBA certified 8(a) women-owned small business with more than a decade of experience providing professional and educational services to defense clients and government agencies. Headquartered in Tacoma, WA, the company maintains a nationwide workforce consisting of language instructors, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and training and education professionals. POSITION SUMMARY: The Associate Language Instructor supports the SOFTS program by providing foreign language instruction in listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills as well as regional and culture subjects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide foreign language instruction in listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills as well as regional and cultural subjects
• Integrate technology in classroom instruction and homework, such as Smart Boards, BlackBoard, RapidRote, and SharePoint
• Develop learning materials as required
• Utilize computer skills to organize data and teaching materials
• Use communicative, learner-centered, and task-based LREC teaching strategies for adult learners
• Develop lesson plans and integrate integrating different learning platforms into curriculum
• Install and enable foreign fonts as needed to use in instructional materials
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIRED:

• At least ILR Level 2 as measured by DoD test
• A score of at least 553 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) PBT, or TOEFL iBT score of at least 83 overall and at least 20 each in Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing
• A score of at least 82 on the English Comprehension Level (ECL) test
• At least a proficiency level 2 or Advanced-Low (ACTFL) on an Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI)
• Must meet target language qualifications: Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) or 2-skill OPI from the DLIFLC; an interview certified by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL); satisfactory completion of Defense Language Proficiency Test
• Competency in classroom management, developing lesson plans, integrating integrating different learning platforms into curriculum, and using supplemental materials
• Successful completion of a minimum of 40 hours of training in online language teaching
• Excellent English and foreign language skills \xe2\x80\x93 both oral and written
• Experience using MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and common media players (e.g. Windows Media Player, Real Player, SMART Boards, etc.) as they relate to modern LREC instruction.

Hourly rate of pay: $28.78 Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• May be required to use computer screen for extensive periods of time.
• Occasional lifting of 15 to 20 lbs.
• Extended working hours and travel may be necessary.
