Job Description

While working for the Caltrans Division of Equipment; under general direction of the Supervising Highway Equipment Superintendent, the Office Administrator will act independently to support the Office of Maintenance and Repair. The analyst will exercise independent judgement on complex operational issues ensuring compliance within program parameters. The analyst has direct responsibility in reviewing and analyzing the status of projects, responding to inquiries, tracking, and data management to determine best actions. The incumbent will prepare calculations and projections. This position will be responsible for establishing, reviewing, and updating Division wide guidance. This is a full journey level position performing more responsible, varied and professional-level technical and/or analytical administrative work. Assigned duties may be in more than one category of administrative work.

Working Conditions


Position located at

3400 R St. Sacramento, Sacramento County.





This is a Limited Term position which

may

be extended to 24 months or become permanent.





While at their base of operation, employees will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial light. However, due to periodic problems with the heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate. Most employees will work in workstations within shared cubicles. Working hours will be set sometime between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Vacations may be restricted during peak times and fiscal year-end closing. Employees may be required to travel in state. Regular and punctual attendance is required.



Regular or recurring telework may occur as part of the incumbent's ongoing regular schedule in accordance with the Department's Telework Policy.



This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans's evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
