Under the direction of the Senior Transportation Engineer, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst is responsible for a wide variety of highly critical and technical budget analysis and personnel analysis duties. This position supports the Environmental Division by performing a variety of complex and technical analytical and administrative work. Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required.

Working Conditions

Position located at 2885 S. Higuera St., San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo County

Work will be done in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting. While in the field, the Incumbent may be exposed to a variety of hazardous and/or unpleasant field conditions, including wet, rainy, cold or hot weather. Hard hat, safety vest or approved safety shirt, and eye protection must be worn at all times in the field. Occasional overtime, travel, and overnight stays will be required.




This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans's evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
