Tenaska is seeking a strategic and highly skilled

Associate General Counsel

to join our

Omaha, NE

based team. In this role, the Associate General Counsel will support the General Counsel in providing high-impact legal guidance to the Tenaska Marketing Ventures ("TMV") business unit, serving as a strategic partner on complex commercial transactions, including natural gas marketing, transportation, storage, and fuel management agreements. This role will negotiate and draft key contracts, advise on corporate and commercial matters, and help drive business objectives while managing risk. The ideal candidate combines deep legal expertise, strong commercial acumen, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic energy environment.

Essential Job Functions



Support the negotiation and drafting of standardized natural gas purchase and sale agreements including NAESB and GasEDI contracts. Support the negotiation and drafting of agreements related to natural gas transportation and storage capacity, such as Asset Management Agreements and Transportation Assignment Agreements. Collaborate on the negotiation and drafting of contracts involving fuel management arrangements for natural gas-fueled power generation facilities. Partner with the commercial team to structure, negotiate and document non-standard commodity transactions and other highly structured deals. Review and negotiate pipeline transportation and storage agreements to mitigate risk and support business objectives. Review and negotiate parental guarantees (incoming and outgoing), non-disclosure agreements, consulting agreements, and other commercial contracts. Provide strategic legal guidance on general commercial and business matters to support business objectives

Basic Requirements:




Juris Doctorate (JD) required Minimum of 7 years of legal experience; energy industry experience preferred Effective listener with strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing and advising at all organizational levels. Proven ability to partner with business teams while managing individual responsibilities and priorities. Demonstrated success navigating fast-paced, dynamic environments with changing priorities and strict deadlines. Proactive, solution-oriented approach to identifying, assessing and resolving legal and business issues. High personal standards for professional performance, integrity, and accountability. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, a questioning mindset, and the ability to provide sound, strategic legal guidance.
