Job Description

Guided by the mission of the YMCA, the Associate Executive Director is responsible for leading and managing assigned areas of the Four Townes Family YMCA, including Wellness, Aquatics, and Membership. Duties include staff and volunteer supervision and development, building and retaining membership enrollment, program innovation and promotion, member and community relations and collaborations, fiscal management, risk management, and financial development.

Core Functions:



Customer Service Excellence

- Provide excellent customer service and positive communication to all customers (members, participants, guests, volunteers, and fellow employees) by actively listening first, building relationships through understanding goals and interests, and responding to their needs in a safe and effective manner.

Role Modeling

- Model and encourage the development and practice of the YMCA character values (Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility) and Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Standards (HEPA), performing all assigned duties with energy and enthusiasm. Abide by all personnel policies and guidelines, follow all reasonable directives issued by leadership, and uphold rules, regulations and safety standards associated with the YMCA.

Annual Support Campaign

- Provide leadership and support for the annual campaign and other special events when possible and as directed.

?

Risk Management -

Remain familiar with risk management procedures in the YMCA facility and outdoor program areas, which include but are not limited to: swimming pool rules and procedures, current required certifications, child abuse prevention, and understanding specific responsibilities during fire, hurricane, tornado, or other emergency situations.

Job-Specific Functions:



? Serves as a member of Y family center leadership and assists in establishing and implementing the strategy, goals and objectives for the branch, in harmony with and support of association goals.

? Ensures high quality programs and strategizes for innovative programs and activities. Expands and promotes programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations, businesses and government entities, at all times representing the Y and its mission.

? In collaboration with the Membership Innovation Team and VP of Marketing and Membership, as well as local branch leadership, develops and directs high-quality member engagement strategies, with a focus on membership growth and increased membership retention. This may include but not be limited to special events, member appreciation, membership campaigns, customer service training, and full knowledge and use of CORE Operations and CORE Engage tools and resources.

? Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff and volunteer performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and volunteers and achieve goals.

? Develops, manages and controls budgets related to assigned program areas to meet or exceed targets.

? Assists in the marketing and promotion of the Y and its membership and program strategies.

? Compiles and analyzes membership and program statistics as required, with primary focus on membership data and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of member services, special events and other related programs.

? Assists in ensuring the maintenance of the family center facility and property to assure high standards of safety and cleanliness and to assure that the requirements of regulatory codes are fully met.

? Actively participates in staff meetings and other related meetings.

? Other duties as assigned.

PREREQUISITES



Minimum Age

: 21

Education

: Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, business or related field

Certs/Licenses

: CPR, First Aid, AED

Training:

: Child Abuse Prevention, Sexual Harassment, Blood-borne Pathogens

Experience:

Minimum 3 years in management/leadership positions and supervising others (YMCA or other not-for-profit experience preferred)
