Position Summary



TIFF is seeking a hands-on, motivated and highly detail-oriented Associate Director of Human Resources to lead and deliver the full range of day-to-day HR operations. This is a practical, roll-up-your-sleeves role to ensure HR processes, employee support, and compliance needs are handled consistently, accurately, and timely.


This role is central to sustaining TIFF's relationship-driven culture. The role will entail partnering with employees and managers as the trusted internal resource by answering questions, coaching through everyday people needs, navigating sensitive situations with care, and helping teams stay aligned with TIFF's values and policies.


This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.




Responsibilities



The responsibilities below reflect the true day-to-day nature of the role at TIFF.

HR Operations and Administration Administer the HRIS (Paycom), maintain accurate employee data, and manage core HR workflows. Maintain headcount and compensation files, HR reporting, and employee documentation. Update policies and handbooks; ensure compliance across states. Benefits and Payroll Coordination Administer all benefit programs, resolve employee questions, and manage annual renewals in coordination with the Finance team. Partner with Finance to coordinate employee payroll changes, accuracy reviews, and compensation adjustments. Lead annual open enrollment process by partnering with Finance and overseeing benefits broker. Employee Onboarding + Own recruiting and hiring process, including leveraging both internal recruiting resources and managing relationships with external recruitment firms.
+ Draft offer letters, coordinate legal review, and facilitate background checks.
+ Manage onboarding, including setting up new hires in Paycom and ensuring all documentation is completed.
+ Support intern program recruiting and planning.
Employee Relations and Issue Management + Serve as the primary contact for employee concerns, performance issues, and conflict resolution.
+ Coordinate terminations, manager communications, documentation, and post-event morale efforts.
+ Partner closely with legal on sensitive and complex matters.
+ Support PIPs and underperformance management.
Compensation and Total Rewards Execution + Partner with Finance on the annual compensation review process.
+ Oversee preparation of annual total reward statements and assist with materials for board reporting.
Culture, Engagement, and Employee Experience + Conduct regular check-ins to understand employee needs and elevate insights to leadership.
+ Facilitate onboarding experiences, employee recognition and engagement activities.
+ Support coaching, mentorship efforts, and culture-building initiatives.
+ Oversee and engage external vendors for strategic projects.
Workforce Planning and Organizational Support Support organizational design, job leveling, and career framework work. Provide data, reporting, and analysis for workforce planning and management decision-making.

Collaborate with leaders and HR partners on longer-term talent initiatives.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in HR or related field; HR certifications preferred (SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR). 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant hands-on tactical responsibilities in all employee benefits, compensation and well versed in federal and multi-state employment laws. Strong interpersonal skills; naturally approachable, supportive, and professional. Exceptional communication, documentation, and organizational skills with a detail oriented and continuous improvement mindset. Experience in financial services or a similar professional services environment preferred. * Proficiency with HRIS systems (Paycom experience strongly preferred) Microsoft office and a curiosity for incorporating the use of AI tools.
