Associate Dean, Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion USC Marshall School of Business The Marshall School of Business is seeking a collaborative, culture-oriented professional with a deeply human approach for the position Associate Dean, Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The Associate Dean will report to and partner with the Vice Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to develop, plan and lead the strategy of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI). The Associate Dean will: 1) have oversight of program execution 2) play a leadership role in formulating and expanding program offerings in collaboration with school leadership, University partners, and the ODEI team; 3) facilitate community discourse, drive communication and champion shared understanding. The ideal candidate will embody the USC Unifying Values, have experience leading culture change, be able to build strong relationships, influence stakeholder groups, and maintain a personal commitment to partnership, shared governance, and community engagement. Other key attributes necessary for success in this position include a well-refined customer-centered orientation and expertise in facilitating community discussion around challenging topics. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides leadership in actualizing the mission of the Marshall School of Business within the space of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.
  • Participates in strategic planning and aligns projects with USC and Marshall vision.
  • Directs the administrative portfolio, including program management, program budget, and program implementation.
  • Leads, oversees, and facilitates co-curricular programs for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Manages the development and delivery of educational programs and support resources from conception to execution.
  • Maintains relationships with a broad range of partners.
  • Strengthens and maintains relationships with key community stakeholders inside and outside of Marshall USC and University partners.
  • Directs and promotes the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Marshall School of Business brand and reputation.
  • Establishes and tracks metrics and reporting.
  • Identifies and implements cross-campus collaboration and program development opportunities.
  • Partners effectively with USC Marshall External Relations and Development colleagues to cultivate and steward major prospective and current donors.
  • May coordinate meetings and presentations.
  • May apply for, secure, and oversee sponsored project opportunities.
  • May teach or co-teach courses, oversee administration of courses, create and/or advise in the development of curriculum, and/or coach and mentor students.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education: Master\'s degree
  • Minimum Experience: 7 years
  • Preferred Education: Doctorate
  • Preferred Experience: 9 years
  • Preferred Field of Expertise: Management experience. Experience with instructional design. Demonstrated strategic orientation
Minimum Skills:
  • Experience with DEI initiatives.
  • Proven facilitation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven capacity for empathy, discretion and political awareness
Anticipated Hiring Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $161,788.82 - $238,831.12.
