Job Description

Using the Fiscal Information System for California (FI$Cal) statewide financial management tool, provides oversight over California Highway Patrol (CHP), Offices of Primary Interest (OPI) budget allocations through review and approval of purchase orders, contracts, and other spending proposals. Ensures that expenditure coding is accurate and appropriate, and monitors OPI's costs against the allocated budget. Provides assistance with other budget oversight tasks, such as personnel transactions, out of state travel, settlements, expenditure reports, etc.

Special Requirements


The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired. Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified before appointment. To satisfy the minimum qualification requirement with education, you must include your unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for initial review. Original diplomas or official, sealed transcripts will be required before the start date. Be proficient with data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel. Have good organizational skills. Knowledge of accounting, budgeting principles and procedures. Capital outlay budget process is a plus. Knowledge or experience with the statewide Accounting/Budgeting system FI$CAL.
