Job Description

Northern Virginia firm hiring a self-motivated, professional, and detail-oriented Associate Attorney for Traffic and Criminal Court. Experience in Virginia criminal/traffic courts is preferred, but not required. A successful candidate is someone who wants to practice as a trial lawyer and rapidly learn the ropes in state and federal courts. Since there will be extensive new and current client contact, a successful candidate must also possess outstanding attorney-client relationship skills.



Spanish speaker is preferred but not required.



We offer a competitive salary compensation package that includes bonuses, 401(k), and paid vacations.

Compensation:

$70,000 - $110,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw. Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs. Represent clients in criminal defense proceedings. Interest in courtroom practice is a must! Negotiate with prosecutors and other parties on behalf of clients. Provide legal advice and guidance to clients in Spanish. Stay updated on changes in criminal law and procedures. Utilize writing skills to prepare legal correspondence and documents.

Qualifications:

Licensed to practice law in Virginia. Member of the Virginia Bar. 1-3 years of law experience preferred. Bilingual Spanish / English preferred.
