Coaching and Related Area
Develops high caliber and quality instruction.

Cares for equipment.
Supervises participants and disciplines team appropriately.
Designs quality organization of practice sessions.
Designs pre-season planning.
Supervises managers and other support personnel.
Manages budget.

Follows league, conference and WVSSAC policies.
Devotes time and energy to coaching duties.
Follows end of season procedures.
Complete WVSSAC Training & Certification Program and take KCS Staff Development Training on Concussions

Requirements for Certified Teachers New TEACHERS that have been hired after July 1, 2012 who apply to coach on the secondary level (grades 6-12) must have completed the three hour training session provided by Kanawha County Schools and complete the On-line Concussion Awareness Course through the KCS Staff Development Site The training courses will be taught throughout the year. Cost of the course will be $15.00 This requirement will allow new teachers hired after July 1, 2012 by Kanawha County Schools to be able to coach on the first day of practice of each specified sport identified
