Assistant Vice President Big Data Developer, Hybrid

Job Description


As a Big Data Developer, this person will be part of our dynamic prime data services team, contributing to the development and maintenance of big data solutions. Will work closely with senior developers and team leads to learn and grow in the field of big data while assisting in the design, coding, and optimization of data pipelines and applications.

Responsibilities:

Design, build, install, configure, and support Hadoop big Data.

Collaborate with senior developers to design, develop, and implement big data solutions using Hadoop ecosystem technologies like Hive, Flume, Yarn, Impala, S3 , Flink, Spark, Kafka, and NoSQL databases.

Strong programming skills in languages such as Scala, Java or Python.

Deliver functional enhancements to the existing big data applications.

Assist in the design and coding of data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data ecosystem and process data in real-time and monitor for data miss or error in progress to ensure that data reaches the end system.

Work on data processing and analytics tasks, including data cleansing, aggregation, and enrichment.

Help optimize and tune big data applications for performance and scalability, under the guidance of experienced developers.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions to maintain code quality and follow best practices.

Learn about data governance, data quality, and data security principles, and apply them to your work.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the big data field to contribute fresh ideas.

Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.

Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users

Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality

Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members

Qualifications:

3-5 years of hands-on experience in big data development on Hadoop, Spark, HDFS, Impala, S3. Kafka, Flume, Yarn, Hive, Flink, Unix, autosys etc..

Proven experience in building and implementing end-to-end big data solutions, from data ingestion to data processing and analytics.

Strong programming skills in languages such as Scala, Java or Python.

Must have experience with SQL and RDBMS databases MSSQL or Oracle etc.

Knowledge of NoSQL technologies e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra etc.

Strong interest in big data technologies and a willingness to learn and grow in this domain.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong desire to contribute and learn.

Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications

Working knowledge of agile project delivery model.

Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

Education:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Any relevant certifications or advanced degrees preferred
