Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate

Assistant Teacher/Closer

to join our early childhood education team. This role includes supporting classroom activities during the day and taking responsibility for closing and cleaning the school so it is fully prepared for the next morning. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children, communicate well with team members, and be dependable, organized, and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities



Classroom Support



Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and overall childhood development Support classroom management and behavior-guidance strategies to promote positive learning experiences Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development Supervise children during classroom work, outdoor play, and transitions to ensure safety at all times Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials and helping maintain a clean learning environment Contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs) when needed Collaborate with colleagues and communicate appropriately with parents about children's progress and daily needs

Closing & Cleaning Responsibilities



Assist with end-of-day closing procedures and ensure safety and security of all children, materials, and classrooms Sweep and mop classroom, kitchen, and bathroom Clean and sanitize bathrooms, sinks, counters, and frequently touched surfaces Empty trash and restock necessary supplies Wipe down tables, shelves, and Montessori materials as needed Ensure the entire school is clean, organized, and ready for the next morning

Experience



Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school, or similar settings is preferred Knowledge of early childhood education principles, including Montessori or toddler care practices, is helpful Classroom management skills and experience developing or supporting age-appropriate curriculum are valued Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and team members are essential Familiarity with literacy and math foundations for early learners is desirable Previous childcare or classroom experience demonstrating responsibility, reliability, and nurturing qualities is beneficial

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
