PURPOSE OF JOB: To assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum in the classroom and to provide quality care for the children.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Demonstrate knowledge of child growth and development through assisting in the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the recommended standards to ensure health, safety, and nutrition.

2. Assist in creating a learning environment based on children's needs, interests, and abilities and one that is reflective of the children's families and culture.

3. Partner with families and use effective communication and assist in making smooth transitions from home to the classroom and demonstrate professional practices in all aspects of work.

4. Use various techniques to observe children and record observations to share with co-teachers and teachers.

5. Complete professional plan annually with supervisor and maintain credentialing required by Keystone Stars, NAEYC, and DPW.

Job Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required CDA preferred or working towards and/or Associate's/Bachelors Degree in ECE.

* Experience: 2 years working with young chidlren (can include babysitting or other childcare facilities) required.
