Job Summary

The Assistant Manager will help oversee the day-to-day operations of the dispensary and lounge, ensuring compliance with state cannabis laws, delivering excellent customer experience, and supporting team leadership. This role requires a strong balance of operational management, team development, customer service, and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management & Training

Assist train, coach, and lead dispensary staff.

Customer Experience

Ensure a welcoming, clean, and positive environment for customers/patients. Handle escalated customer issues, complaints, and returns in a professional manner. Educate customers on cannabis products, strains, and proper usage (flower, edibles, concentrates, etc.).

Cash & Financial Management

Supervise cash handling procedures.

Store Maintenance & Visual Merchandising

Ensure the dispensary and lounge are clean, organized, and visually appealing. First State Compassion Oversee product displays, restocking, and merchandising to maximize sales and compliance.

Compliance & Risk Management

Report any compliance incidents, product issues, or customer safety concerns to senior management.

Backup Leadership

Serve as the acting manager when the Dispensary Manager is not available. Step in to make key decisions, escalate issues, and maintain continuity of operations.
Experience & Qualifications

At least

2-3 years of retail management experience

, preferably in cannabis or a heavily regulated retail environment. Strong knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient with point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office. Able to pass background checks. 21 years old

. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk throughout the day. Comfortable performing cash reconciliation and manual inventory tasks.
