Position Summary

: The Assistant Store Manager / Manager in Training plays a key role in supporting and learning from the Store Manager while preparing to assume full store leadership responsibilities. This position ensures smooth daily operations, delivers exceptional customer experiences, and upholds the highest standards of quality and service. The Assistant Store Manager / Manager in Training will actively participate in staff development, operational planning, and financial management.

Essential Job Functions



Assist in managing all aspects of store operations, including opening and closing procedures, while progressively taking on leadership responsibilities. Supervise, coach, and motivate team members to ensure consistent service and adherence to company standards. Act as a barista in-store on scheduled shifts and as-needed when in any Mill location. Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and maintain accurate stock records to support efficient operations. Oversee beverage preparation and quality control to ensure products meet established standards. Actively participate in training programs and lead staff development initiatives focused on customer service, product knowledge, and operational excellence. Handle customer inquires and resolve issues promptly and professionally, modeling best practices for the team. Assist with scheduling, payroll, and performance evaluations, with increasing responsibility over time. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Keep the store clean and presentable, modifying checklists as needed to maintain a clean environment Contribute to achieving sales targets, controlling operational costs, and understanding store-level financial performance. Engage in structured learning to prepare for full Store Manager responsibilities. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Working Environment



While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to indoor conditions. This position will primarily operate in coffee shop environment. This position will have frequent interactions in areas where hot beverage, brewing equipment, and cleaning chemicals are present. The employee will regularly be exposed to heat, humidity, sharp tools, hot surfaces, and moving mechanical parts associated with coffee preparation equipment. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate but can increase to a loud volume. This position may be required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends or holidays as needed to support training schedules and operational needs.
