Job Summary


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting store operations, supervising staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills within a fast-paced retail environment, overseeing daily store functions, managing inventory, and contributing to sales growth. The Assistant Store Manager will work closely with the Store Manager to implement strategies that enhance store performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities



Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures. Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service. Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to ensure optimal product presentation. Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive shopping experience. Support hiring processes through interviewing and onboarding new employees. Manage payroll, scheduling, and employee orientation programs. Implement marketing initiatives and promotional activities to increase store traffic. Maintain accurate bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS transactions. Monitor sales performance, analyze retail math metrics, and adjust strategies accordingly. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures. Participate in training & development programs to enhance team skills and store performance. Assist with purchasing decisions and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.

Qualifications



Proven management or assistant manager experience in retail or grocery stores. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively. Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and organizational abilities. Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS systems, and retail math calculations. Experience with merchandising, stocking, pricing, and sales management. Knowledge of budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling procedures. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases. Demonstrated ability in employee orientation, training & development, recruiting, and team management. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and store presentation. Ability to work under pressure with excellent time management skills. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
