The Assistant Purchaser assist with purchasing responsibilities throughout the project life cycle which includes ordering materials, supplies and equipment, and follow through with vendors on shipment and delivery.


Assist in the preparation of procurement documents and agreements for the materials needed to execute the project deliverables. Assist in vendor bid evaluations of proposals and technical evaluations. Prepare purchase order documents and submit purchase order information into online purchasing application for final approval. Submit purchase orders to vendors/subcontractors, obtain and log order acknowledgment. Assist in expediting vendor submittals to support detailed design and delivery of equipment and materials to support construction activities. Assist in preparing procurement status reports and expediting reports. Assist in sourcing and qualifying potential suppliers to provide required goods of service. Assis in preparing procurement packages to engineering and project specifications. Verify supplier pricing, quantity, reliability and industry experience. Assist with compiling "Request for Proposal" (RFP) documents including documents, drawings and specifications. Research pricing information, compare prices and quotations. Compile and present cost comparison and analysis. Assist with Project Procurement Status Material Status Reports Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications




Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Law or Construction related field. Required or Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Required Previous internship and/or related consulting experience Preferred Oracle Financial R12 software experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills. Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills. Demonstrated leadership skills. Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred. Involvement on campus or in the community preferred. Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
