We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Property Manager to join our dynamic property management team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in real estate administration, property leasing, and customer service to contribute to the efficient operation of our residential communities. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8, Fair Housing regulations, and property management software such as Buildium and QuickBooks. This position involves supporting property owner, maintaining tenant relationships, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing daily property operations, including leasing, renewals, and tenant relations
Support the administration of LIHTC, Section 8, and other affordable housing programs
Utilize property management software such as Yardi and OneSite for data entry, reporting, and record keeping
Coordinate property maintenance requests and facilities management activities using CMMS systems
Prepare and review legal documents, contracts, lease agreements, and notices in compliance with landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing regulations
Handle conflict management with tenants or vendors professionally and effectively
Conduct property tours for prospective tenants and assist with sales and upselling efforts to maximize occupancy rates
Maintain organized filing systems for legal documents, tenant files, and administrative records
Support compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to property management
Provide excellent customer service through phone etiquette and personalized assistance to tenants and prospects
Assist in negotiating lease terms and renewal agreements to optimize revenue streams
Onsite inspections
Qualifications
Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles with familiarity in property leasing and facilities management
Knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8 housing programs, Landlord-Tenant Law, Fair Housing regulations, and Section 8 compliance standards
Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, Office experience, Data entry skills, Filing systems, CMMS tools
Strong understanding of legal administrative processes related to contracts and lease agreements
Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities
Ability to negotiate effectively and manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
Experience in sales or upselling within a property management context is a plus
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, data entry, and record keeping
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal; ability to build positive tenant relationships
