Schedule:



Monday - Friday, Flexible Hours (8:00 am - 4:00 pm, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, or 10:00 am - 6:00 pm). In addition to regularly scheduled hours, the Assistant Property Manager will address after hour emergencies as needed.

Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) or other equivalent designations.

Summary (of position):



The Assistant Property Manager is to oversee daily operations at a supportive permanent housing facility located within the San Francisco Treasure Island. The position requires residence on site with a unit provided as part of the compensation package. The Assistant Property Manager maintains a productive and professional relationship with veteran residents that is conducive to respect and service, while ensuring that veteran residents abide by house rules and lease terms. This position involves extensive interaction with both on-site staff and tenants. This position supervises Program Monitors the Assistant Property Manager reports to the Property Manager. This position will be subject to an online criminal background check.


As the Assistant Property Manager this position requires the ability to address any major concerns in the absence of the property manager as well as assist the manager in the overall operation of the property, day-to-day implementation of policies, procedures and programs as outlined in the community rules, lease, and Treasure Island One Development, and SFHA.



Responsibilities:



Update the visitor/guest log, along with all other front desk forms and Fire Control Center (FCC) Room forms. Create and maintain tenant files, the waiting list, and the transfer list. Maintain current files and records. Assist with the administration of housing applications and the rent collection process Assist with rent bank deposits, including taking rent by check, money order, or credit card Assist in the tenant re-certification process, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies Complete maintenance work orders, both physically and digitally, and maintain the digital maintenance work order log Create and distribute letters, memos, and notices to residents and staff as necessary Assist the Property Manager in compiling and completing tenant information for monthly and annual summary reports Maintain the orderliness of the front entrance, lobby, and adjoining rooms/areas Address tenant requests and respond to building emergencies as instructed Support the Property Manager as requested Host community meetings, coordination meetings, and team huddles as needed Perform weekly supervision of Program Monitors and any other staff members under the Property Manager's supervision Conduct unit inspections (annual, unofficial, move-in, move-out, and others) Host and escort vendors, upper management, inspectors, regulatory agencies, potential investors, move-in prospects, etc., in and around the property, as well as designated units for inspections, tours, work, or other official business Light maintenance work, including resetting circuit breakers, changing out light bulbs, sweeping, mopping, and other manual tasks as needed Assist tenants with physical disabilities as needed and respond to any reasonable modification requests in a timely manner Respond to reasonable accommodation requests in a timely manner and in compliance with fair housing laws The employee must be able to perform all duties within what would be considered reasonable accommodation. Attend mandatory training sessions or other meetings, even at short notice

Supervisory Responsibilities:



The Assistant Property Manager directly supervises the Program Monitor team to ensure consistent front-desk coverage, adherence to property policies, and excellent customer service to residents and visitors. Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Providing clear direction, support, and accountability for Program Monitors in daily duties such as guest log management, incident reporting, key control, and security monitoring. Reviewing daily desk logs, shift reports, and incident documentation for accuracy and completeness. Training Program Monitors on safety protocols, emergency procedures, communication standards, and professionalism when interacting with residents, guests, and vendors. Ensuring proper coverage of front desk shifts, including scheduling, approving time-off requests, and coordinating backup coverage as needed. Monitoring work performance and addressing attendance, conduct, or policy compliance issues in collaboration with the Property Manager. Holding regular supervision or check-in meetings with Program Monitors to reinforce expectations, discuss challenges, and provide constructive feedback. Supporting the Property Manager in evaluating Desk Clerk performance and contributing to recommendations for training, development, or disciplinary action when necessary. Promoting a respectful, trauma-informed, and veteran-centered approach in all staff interactions with residents and colleagues.

Education:



High School Diploma or GED equivalent


Translatable military experience and skills may be alternatively substituted


Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills


Sensitivity to issues facing homeless, disabled, and elderly populations


Prior experience with public-supported residential property management


Prior experience with security and/or reception work


Must have a clean driving record


Physical requirements:



Ability to travel within San Francisco Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to lift 50 lbs.
