The Assistant Professor of Radiologic Technology/Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology program offered at LSUA. In addition the position requires the advising of students, course development and assessment, and participation in departmental activities as needed.

Requirements:

  • Earned master\xe2\x80\x99s or doctoral degree in Radiologic Technology or a related profession.
  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • A documented record of excellence in teaching, particularly at the undergraduate level.
  • An active and successful record of engagement with the health care community.
  • At least three-years of teaching and/or practical experience as a Radiologic Technologists.
Responsibilities:

1. Teach 9 hours per semester.

2. Organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, continuous quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, directing other program faculty, and general effectiveness of the Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology program.

3. Participate in the budget preparation process.

4. Engage in documented continuing professional development as required for certification and or licensure in Radiologic Technology.

5. Initiate and maintain accreditation of the Radiologic Technology program.

6. Have regular and consistent contact with students and program faculty.

7. Engage actively and successfully with the health care community.

8. Develop and assist with the supervision of student internships/practica.

9. Develop appropriate research and publication initiatives.

10. Develop and teach face-to-face and online courses in Radiologic Technology.

11. Advise students enrolled in degree programs offered by the Department of Allied Health.

13. Participate in departmental meetings, discipline advisory committee meetings and other departmental activities as needed.

14. Assist with student organizations sponsored by the Department of Allied Health.
