Position Summary

The Assistant Produce Manager is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the produce department, ensuring all products are fresh, properly rotated, and attractively displayed. This role requires prior experience in produce, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead and train team members effectively.

Compensation

Training period: $20/hour Upon successful completion of training: $70,000 annually (salary position)

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure all produce products and case displays are fully stocked, fresh, and presented attractively. Receive deliveries and follow company protocol for rotation, stocking, and quality control. Display fruits and vegetables to create an impression of abundance and quality while maintaining proper storage conditions. Accurately label items with price tags or signage; report discrepancies to management. Maintain close communication with vendors regarding product orders and availability. Assist in ordering, stocking, and merchandising produce items. Ensure compliance with sanitation and food safety standards at all times. Provide excellent customer service, resolving customer inquiries and concerns quickly and professionally. Train and develop department associates in all areas, including stocking, merchandising, sales, and service. Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment. Utilize and maintain equipment as required by the department. Inform the Store Manager of any customer concerns, employee matters, or operational issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior

experience in produce department operations

required. Strong knowledge of produce handling, storage, and merchandising. Ability to interpret and follow instructions, solve problems, and adapt to changing needs. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work well with others as part of a team. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. * A passion for fresh food and serving people.
