About Us:

Maine Standard Biofuels is a locally owned and operated, people-based small business focused on reducing waste and making biobased products such as Biodiesel, Bioheat, our Wicked Strong line of cleaners and our Solvitall line of industrial-biobased chemicals. As the only commercial biodiesel manufacturer in the state of Maine, our company aims to lower the carbon footprint of our state by reducing emissions, lowering the use of traditional petroleum based chemicals, and recycling waste such as used cooking oil. Est. in 2007, Maine Standard Biofuels is consistently growing and is seeking an addition to our team in a new position as a plant operator.

Summary:

To operate and maintain facility equipment and grounds in accordance with business objectives outlined by management to manufacture high quality products.

Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assures finished goods, maintenance, new constructions, and operations are in accordance with company quality control guidelines and procedures. Communicates with management daily about operations. Maintains and controls the physical condition of the industrial processing equipment and surrounding grounds to keep a safe working environment. Maintains plant policies, procedures, and guidelines consistent with company policies, procedures and guidelines. Performs other related duties as assigned. Flexible pay rate depending on qualifications and experience

Notes:

You will be expected to be able to be on your feet for the majority of the day. You will also have a desk.

Skills:



Familiarity with hand Tools and battery operated power tools

Logistical, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Boiler Problem Solving

Ready to Learn

Strong Awareness for Safety - We work with hazardous liquids, heavy objects, and up to 20' off the ground

Able to Stay focused on priorities and Time Management

Oral and written Communication Skills - Teamwork is important to avoid feeling overwhelmed

Professionalism

Education/Experience:



High School Diploma or Equivalent. Prior industrial processing or machine operating experience is helpful. A good understanding of sciences such as physics, chemistry, and mechanics is a plus but can be learned on the job.

Salary Range:

Hourly wages will from $25 an hour with a review after 180 days.
