This is a part time, NON-permanent field position, which is up to 40 hours a week. This is an entry ranger position for the South Carolina Park Service.

Assists with park administrative duties in accordance with Department guidelines and procedures and planning of long and short-term goals. Performs maintenance duties around the park (electrical, plumbing, grounds keeping, etc). Collects and accounts for revenue and produces required reports. Instructs, supervises and performs routine and preventative maintenance on grounds, buildings and equipment. Assist with operations to include public use areas, retail operations and facilities. Maintains a safe work environment. Assists in control of inventories of equipment, supplies and retail items by issue, use and counts; completes data reports. Interprets the cultural and natural resources of the State Park Service to park visitors. Assists with swimming area and boat operations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents and other materials used in maintaining park facilities and grounds. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid South Carolina Driver's License
