The Assistant Manager supports the Resident Manager by helping ensure the smooth operation of the site through direct service, administrative support, and communication with staff and individuals served. This role requires strong organizational skills, flexibility, and professionalism. Assistant Managers must demonstrate a working knowledge of Foundations for Independence (FFI) and DSPD policies and procedures, uphold all health and safety standards, and maintain confidentiality regarding staff and client matters per DSPD and FFI code of conduct.
Assistant Managers are expected to represent the organization with professionalism at all times, including appropriate dress, respectful language, and professional behavior in and outside the workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Report directly to the Manager and support daily operations of the site
Assist individuals in arranging transportation and accompany them to appointments and community activities
Schedule UTA or other transit services as needed
Complete grocery shopping and necessary supply pickups
Work scheduled shifts and provide floor support when needed
Assist with medical follow-up and ordering medications
Maintain inventory of all household and program supplies
Ensure the first aid kit is stocked and up to date
Notify management of any site maintenance or repair needs
Check and verify charting and documentation in all required books
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to the Manager
Keep all site paperwork and files updated and organized
Assist with filing, paperwork updates, and maintaining compliance documentation
Be on-call and responsive during assigned workdays
Limit time spent in the office; prioritize client support and direct care
Perform other duties as assigned
