Job Overview


We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager to join our team and drive excellence across store operations. This role is vital in supporting the store manager to ensure smooth daily functions, exceptional customer service, and effective team management. As an Assistant Manager, you will lead by example, motivate staff, and uphold the company's standards to deliver an outstanding shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities



Assist the store manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and staff scheduling Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions to enhance team skills and performance Manage payroll processing, bookkeeping, and cash handling procedures accurately and efficiently Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales potential Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction Support shift management by coordinating tasks, supervising cashiering activities, and ensuring store policies are followed Participate in recruiting efforts through interviewing candidates and assessing their fit for the team Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales transactions and inventory updates with precision Assist in marketing initiatives to promote products and increase store visibility within the community

Skills



Strong leadership abilities with proven supervisory experience in retail or grocery environments Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual capabilities are a plus Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, and pricing strategies to optimize profitability Proficient in retail math including sales management, budgeting, and financial analysis Experience with inventory control systems, stock management, and merchandising techniques Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and cashiering operations Ability to train staff effectively on customer service standards and operational procedures Well-versed in employee orientation processes, interviewing techniques, and team development strategies Organizational skills with a focus on time management to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently Familiarity with wireless sales or related product categories is advantageous Strong management background with experience in shift management and retail sales leadership Capable of multitasking while maintaining attention to detail in bookkeeping and administrative tasks Demonstrated ability to foster a positive work environment through leadership and communication skills
