is opening its first Chicago location, and we're hiring an

Assistant Manager

to help launch it.

We're a modern hybrid of upscale convenience store + exceptional coffee shop--with a strong design aesthetic, curated food/drink, and loyal following from two stores (known as Godega) in Omaha. Now we're coming to Chicago!

This role is

ideal for someone who's ready to help open a store from the ground up

. As our Assistant Manager, you'll be the right hand to the Founders (one of which will be serving initially as General Manager) and play a critical role in launching and operating the store. You'll help build the team, create systems, train staff, and ensure every customer interaction reflects our high standards. You're energized by the idea of helping shape something from the ground up--and ready to roll up your sleeves.

What you'll do:

Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training all front-of-house and retail staff Lead daily operations including opening/closing, cash handling, scheduling, and quality control Ensure a consistently warm, efficient, and elevated customer experience Maintain visual merchandising and inventory standards Identify process improvements and help build our SOPs Step in for General Manager responsibilities when needed Support a healthy, inclusive, and team-first work culture

What you bring:

2+ years in retail or food service leadership Organized, dependable, and team-oriented Barista experience (essential) Retail experience (a plus) Passion for hospitality, food/beverage, and design-forward retail Flexible and unflappable in the face of the unexpected Experience with POS, scheduling, and inventory systems (a plus)

Schedule:

Full-time, 5 days/week including at least one weekend day Must be available for early mornings (6:30am opens) or closing shifts as needed
