Position Summary:

The Assistant Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maintaining the hotel's facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all guests and staff. This position assists the maintenance team with repairs, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house systems to uphold brand standards and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing guest rooms, hallways, public spaces, and equipment. Support preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Respond promptly and courteously to guest maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution. Perform basic carpentry, painting, drywall, and general repairs throughout the property. Help monitor and maintain pool, spa, and outdoor areas as applicable. Ensure tools, supplies, and maintenance areas are organized and clean. Assist with seasonal projects and special maintenance tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer. Follow all safety, security, and brand standards at all times. Report any major maintenance needs or safety concerns immediately.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or hotel engineering preferred. Familiarity with hotel or property management systems is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for long periods, and perform physical tasks. Flexible schedule -- ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in both guest-facing and back-of-house areas of the hotel. Tasks may include exposure to heat, cold, noise, and cleaning chemicals. Must be able to respond to emergencies promptly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
