Urban Pine Winery & Eatery is seeking an Assistant General Manager (AGM) that supports the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of restaurant and winery operations. The position is responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience, efficient team performance in both front and back of house, and collaboration with all leadership positions. This role is ideal for a passionate hospitality professional who thrives in both the culinary and winery environments, combining service leadership with hands on collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Assist in daily management of restaurant, winery, & event operations
Ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH)
Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and alcohol regulations at all times
Utilize POS system OrderPort for restaurant and winery operations
Guest Experience
Lead by example in delivering outstanding guest service & hospitality
Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally
Collaborate on wine and menu pairings, special events, and seasonal offerings
Assist with catering events, banquets, or special functions as needed to ensure flawless execution
Team Management & Training
Foster a positive and uplifting team environment through leadership development, coaching, and recognition initiatives
Create and maintain schedules to ensure optimal coverage and labor efficiency
Support a positive, team-oriented culture focused on excellence and accountability
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing constructive feedback
Support hiring efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new team members
Financial & Business Operations
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for both restaurant and winery
Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
Manage purchasing and vendor relationships for food and dry goods
Ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting
Monitor restaurant sales targets, labor costs, and budget adherence
Qualifications
3-5 years of hospitality management experience, preferably in fine dining
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Solid understanding of wine service, food & beverage operations, and guest relations
Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze performance metrics, and drive profitability
ServSafe Manager and ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred
Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs (cases of wine, supplies, etc.).
