The Assistant Estimator will support the Estimating team in reviewing project documents, preparing cost estimates, and coordinating vendor and subcontractor information. This role is ideal for an early-career construction professional eager to develop skills in cost analysis, project management, and vendor evaluation. Working closely with senior estimators and project managers, the Assistant Estimator will gain exposure to all stages of the estimating process and contribute to the successful delivery of bids and proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in reviewing and interpreting plans at various stages of development, from schematic designs to fully detailed construction documents.
Support in preparing cost estimates by gathering data on materials, labor, and equipment.
Research, evaluate, and help qualify vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project standards.
Compile and analyze project data such as labor rates, material pricing, equipment costs, and location factors.
Help organize and maintain project-related portals, files, and documentation.
Collaborate with senior estimators to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Assist in reviewing project scope, specifications, and risk factors to support bid feasibility.
Contribute to special assignments and strategic initiatives as directed by the Estimating team.
What We Offer
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
1-2 years of relevant construction industry experience, internship, or co-op preferred.
Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents and specifications.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members, vendors, and subcontractors.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with estimating or project management software is a plus.
