supports the planning, preparation, and production of Ogden High School's annual spring play. This is a
part-time role during the spring semester
, ideal for individuals passionate about theater, education, and mentoring high school students. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Drama Director to guide students in all aspects of performance and stage production, helping create a memorable experience for both cast and audience.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Drama Director in auditions, rehearsals, and production planning.
Support student actors with line delivery, blocking, and character development.
Lead select rehearsals as directed, including scene work or performance workshops.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding schedules, expectations, and performance details.
Help oversee set changes, props, and backstage organization during rehearsals and performances.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment where students can grow in confidence and creativity.
Collaborate with the production team (director, technical crew, set design, etc.) to ensure a smooth, cohesive production.
Supervise students to maintain safety and professionalism during rehearsals and performances.
Assist with administrative duties such as script distribution, attendance tracking, program materials, or publicity efforts as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience in theater performance, direction, or education preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Enthusiasm for working with high school students in a creative, team-oriented setting.
Time Commitment:
January - April.
Hours vary based on the rehearsal schedule and include
after-school hours and weekend rehearsals/performances.
