:

The Division of Pre-College and Undergraduate Programs is responsible for developing and offering non-credit and credit courses and programs for over 6,000 high school students, as well as Brown University undergraduate and Visiting Students from other institutions. Students participate in programs on Brown University\xe2\x80\x99s Providence campus, as well as online, and in other locations domestically and internationally. Within the Division are teams of staff who are responsible for marketing, admissions, enrollment, academic content, instructional delivery, student life, finance, human resources, payroll, and the various policies and protocols associated with this work. Staff work closely with colleagues from across the University to ensure success, including the Registrar\xe2\x80\x99s Office, the Office of Information Technology, and Facilities Management.

The Brown Collegiate Scholars Program (BCSP) is a four-year year-round college access program for students living and learning in Providence. The Program seeks to empower academically motivated public school students who live and learn in Providence to explore their interests and strengthen their academic preparation in order to identify, select, afford and attend colleges that align with their aspirations. As a reflection of the University\xe2\x80\x99s approach to student-centered learning, focus will be on developing student agency as a means for self-reflection, exploration, and self-determination. Particular attention will be focused on serving students who are the first in their families to go to college, from historically underrepresented groups in higher education, and/or who have limited financial resources.

Reporting to the Director, the Assistant Director of Recruitment & Admissions is responsible for the day-to-day operations related to all components of recruitment, admissions, and onboarding activities for the BCSP. This work includes, but is not limited to, disseminating program information, processing admission applications, documents, electronic data, and admission decisions, as well as program forms, confirmation communications, orientation, and welcome packets. This position is the point of contact with school guidance personnel, families and local communities for recruiting, admissions and onboarding purposes, and will visit schools and community spaces to support this work. The individual will work collaboratively with staff across the Division for Pre-College and Undergraduate Programs including but not limited to the Marketing & Enrollment Services and Finance & Operations teams. The position oversees the staff responsible for engagement with families and communities throughout the student\xe2\x80\x99s lifecycle in the program. Please note: the Assistant Director of Recruitment & Admissions will be tasked with visiting schools in the PPSD, along with community organizations. Regular travel around Providence is expected throughout the year.

Major Responsibilities include:

Develop a recruitment plan that engages schools and communities, and successfully seeks student applicants and supports enrollments for the BCSP (30%)

Oversee admissions processes and enrollment-related functions for the BCSP (30%)

Develop a marketing and communications plan annually to support successful engagement with various constituents across Providence, RI (20%)

Oversight of Family and Community Engagement staff and corresponding responsibilities (10%)

Other duties as assigned, including supporting summer programming (10%)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree and 5 years of experience or equivalent of education and experience required.

Experience in admissions preferred.

Experience in urban schools and/or non-profit organizations preferred.

Experience with college access programming preferred.

Experience working with first-generation and low-income communities.

Supervisory experience preferred.

Superior computing abilities including, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps for Education and basic technology troubleshooting experience required. Advanced experience using presentation tools preferred.

Experience working with Salesforce, TargetX or other student systems preferred.

Job Competencies

Excellent communication skills (virtual, oral, and written).

Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Strong presentation skills including the ability to conduct practical workshops and presentations.

Outstanding organizational skills and ability to do detail-oriented work.

Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work under pressure.

Ability to troubleshoot in a complex and changing work environment.

Must have the ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team.

Strong analytical and time management skills.

Possess a willingness and ability to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community.\xe2\x80\x8b
