Opening this Summer, The Lodge at Historic Lewes is Coastal Delaware\xe2\x80\x99s newest senior living community. As we prepare our opening, we\xe2\x80\x99re recruiting the area\xe2\x80\x99s best and brightest to be a part of our opening management team.

This team will be comprised of individuals who are passionate about what they do and believe in serving seniors at the highest level.

One of these key positions Lewes Lodge is looking for is the role of Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This leader will be responsible for building a team of compassionate, kind, and dynamic caregivers; as well as supporting the development of the community\xe2\x80\x99s culture with the rest of Lewes Lodge\xe2\x80\x99s management team.

General day to day responsibilities will include\xe2\x80\xa6

  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local agencies
  • Partnering with administration and DON to maintain health safety of residents and team members alike.
  • Collaborating with third-party providers such as pharmacies, EMAR providers, healthcare groups, and more to provide optimal services to residents, as assigned.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting on trends within care department, and implementing improvement plans as assigned.
  • Advising and mentoring team of licensed nurses and caregivers on staff
  • Training and educating resident care team as needed and assigned.
  • Developing, assessing, and creating care plans for residents upon admission, as required be regulations, and as needed.
  • Partnering with other department coordinators to identify, review, and discuss potential change in service/medication levels if applicable.
  • Ensuring the resident\xe2\x80\x99s service plan is updated as indicated by state regulations.
  • Participating in community awareness activities and community relations.
  • Communicating with resident\xe2\x80\x99s family and/or responsible party regarding changes in care or health concerns.
  • Informing the Business Office of fee changes related to care needs, if applicable.
  • Scheduling clinical staff as assigned by DON
  • Participating in a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Acting as DON in their absence
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by management.

A successful addition to the team will be an individual with strong interpersonal skills, a professional yet empathetic communication style, an ability to take direction from their supervisor while also directing other team members, and most importantly a collaborative approach to their work.

While we support continued learning and enrichment, and celebrate a culture that encourages learning new skills, there are base level requirements for this position that include but are not limited to:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
  • Maintains current state license as a Licensed Professional Nurse or a Professional Registered Nurse per state regulations.
  • Other skills required:
  • Experience in assisted living, home health or long-term care industries.
  • Two (2) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a Licensed Nurse.
  • One (1) year nursing management experience.
