A Typical Day for an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) with Hearthstone/The Cottages:




Collaborate with the DON for overall nursing leadership within our Long-Term Care area Orient, train, and provide ongoing training and supervision to employees Assist in the evaluation of the health care services needed for each resident Serve as the liaison for staff shift transitions Plan, develop and oversee staffing schedules Schedule and conduct in-services meetings for staff Prepare and participate in surveys and inspections made by authorized government agencies Partner with the DON for nursing operation efficiencies Oversee infection control program and reporting Communicate with physicians, family members, etc. regarding resident status as appropriate Participate in quality improvement activities Audit skills of nursing staff

RequiredActive RN in the state of Iowa is preferred 3+ years of nursing experience within a long-term care setting
PreferredPrevious nursing leadership experience in a long-term care setting is highly preferred
