The Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Business Office as the Assistant Director of Finance. We are seeking a candidate who will join a premier administrative team and dedicated faculty, in an environment of high quality learning opportunities and a culture of continuous improvement. The position is year round and will begin on or before July 2023. The Assistant Director of Finance (AD of Finance), under the supervision of the Director of Business & Finance, provides strategic direction, leadership, and management for the overall administration and coordination of the districts accounting and payroll functions.

The AD of Finance is responsible for leading the Districts finance and payroll staff and functions to maximize the instructional impact for all students. The AD of Finance will contribute to the short and long-term planning of the district with the intent to fully realize our Vision. With guidance from the Director of Business & Finance, the AD of Finance will plan and manage the day-to-day accounting and payroll operational functions, manage the accumulation of financial information for financial reporting, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. The AD of Finance is responsible for maintaining, managing, and analyzing budgets, financial statements, payroll and related compliance issues.

The AD of Finance is also responsible for planning and implementing grant programs, preparing budgets, monitoring expenditures, tracking results and analyzing financial data. HR Coordinator bdahlin@rnesu.org Requirements include: Bachelors degree in accounting or other appropriate discipline plus five (5) years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience form which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Experience with governmental or fund accounting is preferred but not required.Excellent communication skills, organizational skills and ability to complete complex tasks with attention to detail in an accurate and timely manner.Proficiency in the use of technology (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, data bases, email, web posting, and use of internet.Proficiency excel skills are required including mastery of sort, filter, subtotal, pivot tables and graphs.
