The Assistant Dining Manager supports the department in overseeing the daily operations of the dietary department to ensure high-quality meal service and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in a long-term care setting. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on cooking duties. The Assistant Dining Manager will assist with menu planning, staff scheduling, training, and supervision, while also preparing and serving meals in accordance with residents' dietary needs and facility standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the overall management of the dining services department, including staffing, training, and scheduling.
Cook and prepare meals for residents, staff, and visitors as scheduled, ensuring meals are nutritious, attractive, and served on time.
Support with menu planning that meets regulatory requirements and resident preferences.
Ensure compliance with all sanitation, food safety, and infection control standards.
Maintain accurate food and supply inventories, assisting with ordering and receiving.
Monitor portion control, food quality, and presentation.
Provide guidance and leadership to dietary staff, including coaching and performance feedback.
Assist with meal service during peak times, including special events or holiday functions.
Participate in resident satisfaction initiatives, responding to feedback regarding dining services.
Maintain knowledge of residents' therapeutic diets and ensure proper preparation and service.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
