The Assistant Controller's responsibility will be as follows:
Key Responsibilities:
Manage general ledger accounting, account reconciliations and monthly close process.
Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements with accompanying analysis, report findings and recommendations to the senior management team;
Manage and oversee the collateral debt requirements including revenue tracking, covenants, funds flow and reporting requirements;
Manage and oversee banking reporting needs and requested information as needed;
Maintaining the organization's accounting principles, procedures, and initiatives as well as improving where possible;
Lead the continued enhancements of the NetSuite ERP system;
Coordinate with external auditors to support annual audits.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
Supervise and mentor members of the accounting team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree a plus.
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting experience at a Big Four firm.
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Experience with consolidation and multi-entity structures preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with NetSuite ERP and Microsoft Excel
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor team members.
Proven experience managing financial close processes, audits, and compliance in a public company environment.
In-depth knowledge of REIT-specific accounting principles, tax regulations, and SEC reporting requirements is a plus.
