About the Role

ROPER is hiring an Assistant Building Engineer to support the daily maintenance and facility operations at Parkside Psychiatric Hospital & Clinic in Tulsa, OK.

You will work directly under the Chief Building Engineer and help maintain a safe, functional, compliant environment across the hospital campus.

This position is perfect for someone who has solid hands-on maintenance experience (commercial, residential, or light industrial) and is ready to grow into a more advanced role -- without needing to supervise others yet.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with general building maintenance, repairs, and preventive tasks across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Perform routine inspections of equipment, common areas, and building systems. Respond to work orders, troubleshoot issues, and complete repairs professionally and efficiently. Assist with filter changes, light fixture maintenance, replacing ballasts/bulbs, minor drywall repair, door hardware, caulking, patching, and similar tasks. Support the Chief Engineer with vendor coordination and onsite access as needed. Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow all hospital and OSHA safety requirements. Document completed work and maintenance notes accurately. Provide excellent communication with hospital staff and represent ROPER professionally at all times.
Requirements

2+ years of experience in building maintenance, facility maintenance, or a related trade (apartment maintenance, commercial handyman, etc.). Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical troubleshooting, and plumbing repairs. Ability to use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and test meters safely. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Ability to pass: State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services background check Drug screen (This job is notated as safety sensitive meaning no Medical Marijuana is allowed for this position either) Valid driver's license.
Preferred (Not Required)

Experience in a hospital, school, or commercial facility environment. Familiarity with CMMS/work-order software. Basic HVAC certification or trade school background.
Schedule & Pay

Full-time, Monday-Friday No on-call rotation Starting at $23 per hour, based on experience Bi-weekly pay Opportunities for long-term growth within ROPER as we expand both our Facilities and Remodeling divisions.
