Job Title: Assistant Brewer Reports to: Head Brewer Tioga-Sequoia was founded in 2007 in Fresno, CA. Our brewery has had a mission to brew world class beers and bring awareness and resources to preserving our backyard, part of the Southern Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. Since then, we have also been able to create a community brand that has acted as a culture hub and advocate for growth of the craft beer community in Central California. Job Summary Under the direction of the Head Brewer, the Assistant Brewer will be trained and educated in all aspects of brewing. This position is intended to prepare the employee to move up to a Brewer position, and as such is intended to be temporary, though the length of time will vary depending on each individual candidate\xe2\x80\x99s progression and learning. The position starts with the basics of cleaning and sanitation, and moves through cellar work and yeast management, eventually working in brewing itself and downstream processes such as clarification. Expectations of the position, but not limited to:

• CIP/SIP of all brewery and cellar vessels
• Ingredient handling and measurement
• Fermentation monitoring and documentation
• Dry hopping
• Equipment maintenance
• Facilities maintenance (cleaning of floors, surfaces, and common areas)

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sciences such as chemistry and biology, especially in regards to brewing, are beneficial, but not required
• Ability to work with others and receive constructive criticism and feedback
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• A strong work ethic and desire to succeed
• Embrace a process of change and opportunities for continual improvement
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a timely and effective manner
• Experience with Excel/Sheets and Word

Physical requirements

• Lift and move 55 lbs. independently, and 170 lbs. with assistance
• Ability to work effectively in extreme temperatures from freezing to 100+F, in wet conditions and with continuous moderate noise levels
• Work while predominantly standing for 8-10 hours per day
• Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl in and around equipment and tight spaces with no difficulty
• Function at heights of up to 10 feet or more
• Knowledge and ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment. In-house training is provided; if no experience, then the ability to learn is crucial.
